  The pioneers in my congregation are feeling the "crunch" of rising fuel costs. I believe even more so in my congregation as it is covering a foreign language territory and it really isn't house-to-house work in terms of walking. It is more like driving from one neighborhood to find a house and then to another as our territory encompasses the entire district. Households are literally scattered.

  This will certainly have an effect on these so-called "full-time" servants. These full-time servants will eventually need to get full-time jobs!

  The healing power of a Root Beer float

  chill a big glass or mug in the freezer.

  drop in two scoops of good vanilla ice cream and pour in a well chilled, quality brand of root beer and fill to the top.

  drop in a straw and grab an ice teaspoon and escape for a few minutes into pure sensory pleasure.

  Simon says: I think it's because in the UK the ingredients were used in medicine or dissinfectant or something so Root Beer just seems to be 'essence of hospital'.

  Right. My friend from Britian said the same when he first tried it. He told me, "What's the big deal about it?". It is, I suppose, an acquired taste for those not exposed to that flavor in the form of a soda.

  SWALKER said : Whether or not you believe in his message, the point is that this is another fracture in the WTBTS! It is amazing to see the number of people fleeing from this organization.

  I feel the same when coming across personalities or movements like this one. Yes, the WTS is obviously coming to crossroads in this day and age when it comes to the "unity" issue. There are JWs out there looking for a unique blend to their existing faith without compromising their conscience while trying to avoid the grip of the WTS.

  This is sort of the JW reform movement. I honestly see the WTS splintering off into various factions over the decades. Perhaps centuries into the future. This is the history of religion.

  Didn't the apostle Paul and other first century disiciples of Jesus go to synagoges of the Jewish faith even after they themselves became full-fledged Christians who converted away from Judaism?

  Yes, they had a focused purpose in doing so. And the same with going to weddings/funerals of those who have a different faith or belief system.

  The WTS is developing a guilt tactic on this topic for those who may decide to use their conscience.

  Going back just pre 80's I remember how many hours I wasted playing Pong and the hand held Coleco football game. I still have it and it works to.

  Anybody remember this one?

  Wow! Flashback galore!!!

  I remember playing this exact game while watching the Pittsburgh Steelers playing the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl XIV 1979-1980 season.

  Spanish congo's, different?

  my hubby went to a spanish congo and it seems that they operate a little differently.

  is this accurate?

  example, i don't think my father in law goes out in service, and he's a big ol' witness.

  If they remembered the theme, any relevent points or scriptures delivered from a public talk given by a fellow elder in the very same congregation just two or three weeks ago.

  Put them on the spot. See if they know or even care. What will their reaction be like? It will just go to show how much they REALLY are paying attention.

  Heck, I'll try my own suggestion at the next meeting.

  Week long Elders school announced

  at the agm it was announced that all elders in the us will attend a weeks 5 days kingdom ministry school next year.

  there will be a different class held at patterson each week until all us elders have attended.

  not sure about other countries.

  If this one week exclusive school for elders is true, whether at Patterson or at local Assembly Halls, I'm positive that not every single elder can attend.

  Each congregation will send elders according to the individual elder's ability and availablity. Then those who would attend can take extensive notes and relay information they learned to the other elders in their congregation who could not attend the week long course.

  This way the congregation can still be run and overseen by any remaining elders who aren't "privileged" to attend for the week.

  This is my take on this.
